The Job-Switch model

The Job-Switch model

In a flash of brilliance (or so I like to think), I decided to plot down some parameters on why people change jobs. So I randomly (or you can say intuitively ;-) ), took two axes and created the 2×2 grid which MBAs are famous for.

The interpretations are multi-fold, I have put down some of my views, now lets discuss!!

  1. Apologies for my ignorance. But what exactly is ‘value chain’?

That should do it!! By Value chain here, I mean how higher up in the product/service value are you.

  6. I beg to defer on your value chain parameters. Down here, the value added by CEOs is not necessarily in the tangible and beneficial terms, except their years of slogging.

The person higher up on the product value is actually the one who is working on ‘it’ rather than the one who has been managing it.
